While Fredericksburg has many fine restaurants, these are a few that we recommend and that we frequent. Many restaurants do not require reservations, but the top ones do.

Reservations required. Seafood, steak, chicken - hearty portions, salad included - full bar. Very good food and right across the street from Das Garten Haus.

Reservations recommended. Southwest/Cajun slant on very good food - steak, seafood, pasta - full bar with indoor and outdoor seating. 803 E. Main St. at Olive. Expensive.

Austin's - the Restaurant at Rose Hill Manor - 830-644-2247 (Dinner Wed.-Sun.).
Reservations required. Prix fixe menu along with small menu of a la carte items - about 20 minutes from town at beautiful estate B&B. Full bar with extensive wine list. Excellent food and beautiful view with well paced courses - always special.

August E's - 830-997-1585 (Summer hours - every night for dinner, Friday and Saturday for lunch.) Reservations recommended on weekends. Continental and Sushi menu in modern setting. Full bar. On San Antonio between Lincoln and Llano. Very expensive.
Hill Top Cafe - 830-997-8922 (Wed. - Sun. from 11 Am till 9-10 PM)
Cajun/Greek specials - very famous restaurant located 11 miles north on Hwy. 87. Small, casual, music on weekends - beer and wine. Reservations strongly recommended.

Cabernet Grill (formerly Cotton Gin) - 990-5734 (Lunch Mon - Fri., Dinner Monday through Saturday).
Large menu of well prepared food - all kinds. Full bar with many Hill Country wines featured. On Hwy. 16 South, just across from the Park and Fair Grounds.
Der Lindenbaum (Mon.-Sun. for lunch. Dinner every night except Tuesday).
No reservations taken. Excellent authentic German food on north side of Main St., between Washington and Lincoln. Wine and beer - many German beers. They accept American Express, Discover, cash and checks - no Mastercard or Visa.

Friedhelms Bavarian Inn (Tues.-Sun.)
No reservations taken. Very good German and American food. Healthy portions, fairly laid back service. Large restaurant with great looking bar. On West Main at 290/87 split.
Pasta Bella - 830-990-9778 (Tues.-Sat.)
Italian food 1/2 bock south of Main on Llano. Beer and wine. Very good food - one of our favorite casual places.
Mamacitas - open every day. Good Mexican food - great Margaritas. Inexpensive with great service. 506 E. Main. We eat here every week.
Rathskeller - (Wed.- Mon.) 990-5858 Texas Hill country cuisine - well prepared dishes in cellar restaurant of historical building. Beer and wine. Northwest corner of Main and Lincoln.
Hondo's - 830-997-1633 (Wed - Sun) Casual setting for great burgers, sandwiches, and live entertainment on weekends. Full bar - no reservations. Fun place! West end of Main on North side between Orange and Milam Streets.
Buffalo Nickel - 830-997-3700 (Thurs. - Sun., closing at 4 PM on Sunday.) Burgers, chicken fried steak, grilled chicken sandwiches - full bar. On Llano 1/2 block south of Main.
Kelly's Cafe - 830-997-8593 (Tues.-Sat. - lunch and dinner). Casual dining - reasonable prices of homemade food. 505 West Main St. on the South Side.
Sunset Grill - 830-997-5904 (Every day for lunch, Friday and Saturday dinner). American Bistro with fresh choices and changing menu on weekend evenings. Very good and moderately priced. Beer and wine. 902 South Adams St.
